Brian’s from the Washington, D.C. area. He holds degrees in philosophy and law, as well as a Chinese language certificate. As a qualified US lawyer, he has worked in a large law firm, his own China business consultancy and as corporate counsel for an international engineering firm. Daniel heads up Concision. He wrote his first book at the age of 13 (admittedly, it was rubbish). He read law at Balliol College, Oxford, and subsequently theology. He enjoys public speaking, and recently gave a TEDx talk on ‘How concision might save your life.’ In his spare time he enjoys good coffee, cycling and kayaking.
Since arriving in the North East as a student more than a decade ago, Jen has acquired a BA and an MA in English Literature from Durham University, a professional qualification in magazine journalism, and several years' experience in business publishing as a writer, researcher and editor. In her spare time she likes to get outside as much as possible with her husband and their two small (but highly energetic) boys.
Karin has over thirty years’ experience in language, communications and marketing. She started out as a journalist in Germany. She then moved to the Netherlands, where she worked as a corporate trainer in German language and business culture, and as a communications and marketing officer at the North East Chamber of Commerce. She currently runs her own consultancy, Klant op één, and works with Concision as a writer for our Dutch and German clients. In no particular order, she loves the Provence, Scandinavian thrillers, Jane Austen novels and silly videos.

Michael grew up in London and studied Classics and later Theology at Oxford University. He has been Head of Classics at Ashford School, Kent, and has several published books. He enjoys reading and walking and thinks life is always better with a cup of coffee and a slice of cake.
Peter previously studied and worked as an earth scientist. Like any good scientist, he appreciates brevity and simplicity. He enjoys making tricky concepts easy to understand, a skill he learnt while teaching first year geology. (Apparently, instruction in geology is not always appreciated - as Peter discovered on honeymoon!) Growing up in Nepal gave him a love for communicating across cultures. Peter enjoys travelling, is an avid cyclist, and relishes a geeky board game.
Sarah grew up in the Netherlands. She has spent several years travelling and studying languages, including German, Italian, Spanish and Arabic. She has a BA in English Language and Literature and a MA in Creative Writing. She now oversees Concision EU and in her free time she likes to conduct cooking and baking experiments on her AGA – with varying degrees of success.
